History

Geotron UK Ltd. was founded in 2002 by the collaboration of a UK based team with an environmental consultancy background and Geotron International B.V., an established Dutch drilling contractor operating internationally on environmental and geotechnical drilling programmes since 1989. The result was a UK-based independent company offering a range of technical site services to clients throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Operating initially with a single site crew, the company has grown year on year currently working with a team in excess of 30 site operatives, engineers, managers and support staff. We have continually added to our fleet of rigs, transport trucks and support vehicles ensuring we are always at the forefront of drilling technology, work efficiency and innovation.

Dennis van Enk (Ing. MSc.)

Managing Director

Dennis assumes overall responsibility for the management and operation of Geotron UK. Graduating with a degree in Environmental Technology and a Masters in Business Management, Dennis has worked within the geo-environmental consulting and contracting industry since 1991 in The Netherlands, Belgium, West Africa and the UK.

Within Geotron UK, which he founded in 2002, Dennis is responsible for business strategy planning and implementation. He heads up the management team and is involved in the technical direction of projects and runs the Company’s equipment purchase and innovation programme.

Sarah van Enk (BSc. Ph.D.)

Director

Sarah have been involved with the management and development of Geotron UK since the Company began trading on 2002. After graduating with a first class degree in Environmental Science and a PhD in Earth Science, Sarah began her career as an environmental consultant before setting up Geotron UK alongside Dennis.

Currently Sarah assumes the role of Commercial Director with responsibility for estimating, quality and compliance and she oversees the project coordination/management, accounts administration and human resources function.

Warren Reade

Operations Director

Warren heads up the Geotron UK Geotechnical Division. He has responsibility for the operation and development of the geotechnical site investigation service which compliments the strong geo-environmental capabilities of the company. His role includes technical project management and direction, estimating, business development and staff training and management.

Warren joined the team in 2014 after 13 years experience within the geotechnical industry as a drilling foreman and supervisor.

Mark Rudd B.Eng (Hons)

General Manager

Mark joined the team in 2018 as General Manager and has quickly become a key part of the senior management team supporting the Company through its growth and development.  Mark has over 30 years experience in transport, logistics and the automotive manufacturing sectors and most recently completed 12 years as the General Manager of a large logistics Company.  Mark’s areas of expertise include fleet and people management, health & safety, finance, compliance, human resources and property management where he excels in developing IT systems to record, track and report all activities to ensure efficiency, compliance and accountability across all Company operations.

Nick Callaghan

Operational Project Manager

Nick joined the team in early 2019 after a short break in the industry.  For over 20 years Nick has worked as a project manager, driller and supervisor om geotechnical and environmental site investigation programmes on land, near shore and off shore around the UK and abroad. Nick has extensive experience of a large range of drilling methodologies including cable percussion, window sampling, rotary drilling for site investigation, water well installation, dewatering and geothermal installations. Nick is NVQ Level 2 (Land Drilling), SMSTS and IOSH Working Safely qualified and has extensive experience managing the quality (ISO 9001 Internal Auditor) and H&S aspects of drilling programmes.

Nick works within the project management team and undertakes all aspects of project coordination and management including budget control, use of the PM system, liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, drilling teams and clients to ensure the smooth execution of drilling programmes.

Victoria Prado Fernandez (BSc Hons)

Project Manager

Victoria joined the Project Management team in January 2019.  Her geological career began with an Engineering degree in Mining and Energy Generating Resources from the University of Oviedo, Spain and a Masters degree in Natural Resources Engineering from the University of Cataluna.  After working as a engineer in Spain, Victoria moved to the UK where she has undertaken various managerial roles and has achieved PRINCE2 project management qualifications.

Within the Project Management Team, Victoria undertakes all aspects of project coordination and management including budget control, use of the PM system, liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, drilling teams and clients to ensure the smooth execution of programmes.

Louise Oliver (BSc Hons)

Project Manager

Louise joined the project management team in early 2019 after moving back up to the northwest after 20 years living and working in the southwest.  Louise has many years experience in the construction industry, primarily with the plant hire and sales industry as well as project management on civil engineering programmes.  Louise has a degree from the Open University where she specialised in Earth Sciences.

Louise undertakes all aspects of project coordination and management including liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, drilling teams and clients to ensure the smooth execution of programmes.

Deborah Barson

Finance and Administration

Deborah works closely with the management team within the office and is responsible for all aspects of finance administration, assists with some of the project coordination tasks and generally keeps the office running efficiently.

Deborah has wide ranging experience in this field working for both large corporations and small companies to help deliver their financial targets.

Jordan Slater (BSc Hons)

Operations Coordinator

Jordan provides a crucial link between the operations team and Geotron’s site crews.  He assists the teams with maintenance, repair and availability of tools and equipment and uses the Company’s systems to record, monitor and implement statutory inspections, planned maintenance and servicing of rigs, tools and the fleet of vehicles.

With a practical background in agriculture and construction plus a degree in Physical Geography, Jordan provides and capable and knowledgeable pair of hands to keep us on the move.

Adrie Lamore

Technical Adviser

Adrie is the Managing Director of Geotron International B.V. and is currently based in Curacao in the Caribbean. Heading up the international group, Adrie manages projects on a worldwide basis with rigs and equipment stationed in various countries throughout South and Central America, Europe and Africa.

Adrie was involved in the original formation of Geotron UK and since that time has undertaken a technical advisory role to the management team. He has been working in the geotechnical and environmental site investigation industry since he founded Geotron B.V . in the Netherlands in 1989.
