Wirth Eco 1

This truck mounted multi-purpose rig, based in the Netherlands, is suitable for environmental, geotechnical and geological investigations under a variety of circumstances. This machine is used worldwide for investigations on/near and off shore.

The rig is fitted with a very powerful rotation tables for turning casing to allow rapid progress of cased drilling. Under favourable circumstances, fully cased drilling up to depths of approximately 250m is possible.

The techniques that can be performed by this rig is as follows:

· Solid Stem Auger Drilling (up to 70m);
· Cable Percussion Drilling (fully cased boreholes up to 250m);
· Rotary Drilling (open hole-up to 300m and coring up to 600m);
· DTH Hammer (up to 200m);

The diameters at which the above techniques can be performed can vary depending on the target depth of the borehole, the nature of the geology and the monitoring well or sampling requirements.

Our standard casing diameters are 324mm, 219mm and 178mm, with augers and shells designed to fit through these three diameters. Rotary coring can be performed at 98mm or 146mm OD giving core diameters of 62 and 116mm, respectively.
