Environmental Policy Statement

By the very nature of our work within the environmental site investigation business, Geotron UK understands and acknowledges its responsibility to the local and regional environment during the execution of intrusive investigations and in all other aspects of our work.

We aim to carry out all our services in a manner which minimises impacts on the above ground, sub-surface soil, groundwater, surface water and ecological environments. All our employees are trained to recognise potential impacts and apply the relevant control measures to ensure protection of sensitive receptors.

Environmental Policies

1. Geotron UK will endeavour to prevent any release of harmful substances into the atmosphere, the subsurface environment or surface water-courses.

2. Geotron UK accepts and will continue to comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and any subsequent legislation or codes of practice which apply to any aspect of our work. We will implement and plan for future legislative requirements.

3. Geotron UK will develop the awareness of their employees relating to environmental issues through training programmes and induction courses.

4. Geotron UK has a programme of continuous monitoring and review of environmental performance with immediate implementation of improvements where these can be identified.

5. Geotron UK will work closely with our partners in the Environmental Consultancy Industry to obtain as much information as possible regarding the physical subsurface environment (geology and hydrogeology) and the potential chemical contaminants (nature and potential source areas) prior to commencing an intrusive investigation at a site. Geotron UK will use their understanding of such issues and their continuous observation and monitoring of the subsurface environment during the progress of their work to minimise the environmental impacts of the investigation.

6. Geotron UK will always dispose of waste materials for investigations in the appropriate manner. Waste soils and groundwater will be disposed of at a disposal facility licensed to accept the type of waste in question. Transport to that facility will be by a registered carrier of waste.

The above policies will be adhered to by all Geotron UK employees. Our employees will also assume the responsibility for continuous monitoring of our procedures and are required to suggest improvement where they can be practicably implemented.
