Geotron UK specialise in supplying a wide range of drilling services plus a variety of ancillary site services during the execution of environmental site investigations. We undertake a range of drilling techniques to suit the site conditions (access etc.), the geological conditions and the required scope of works of the investigation (i.e. borehole depth, diameter, installation requirements etc.) including, but not limited to:

Hand Augering (Cased or Open Hole) by hand held, non-mechanical equipment

Window Sampling by Hand Held Portable Equipment and by Tracked Rigs

Dual Tube Sampling (Cased and Lined Windowless Sampling) by Tracked Rigs

Hollow Stem Auger Drilling by Tracked and Truck-Mounted Multi-Purpose Rigs

Solid Stem Auger Drilling (Cased or Open Hole) by Tracked and Truck-Mounted Multi-Purpose Rigs

Cable Percussion Drilling (Cased) by Tracked and Truck-Mounted Multi-Purpose Rigs

Rotary Drilling (Open Hole, Coring, Symmetrix/Robit/Odex, DTH) by Tracked and Truck-Mounted Multi-Purpose Rigs

If required, gas and/or groundwater monitoring wells are installed within the drilled boreholes to facilitate future monitoring and sampling programmes.

Ancilliary Services
To accompany our drilling and well installation activities, we offer a range of ancillary services to assit our clients with their on-site activities including:

soil sampling and borehole logging (in accordance with BS 5930)

borehole elevation surveys using standard optical techniques

development of installed groundwater monitoring wells

groundwater sampling and monitoring activities

hire of field equipment (CAT Scan, PID, interface probes, sampling pumps, sampling materials etc.)

Geotechnical Testing & Sampling
Although we specialise in performance of environmental site investigations, we are able to offer in-situ geotechnical testing during borehole advancement. Standard Penetration Tests (SPTs) can be performed by the Nordmeyer DSB 0/3, Comacchio GEO205 and the Geotool GTR 790, and undisturbed soil core samples for the purposes of laboratory testing (includoing U100 samples) can be recovered. Heavy & Superheavy dynamic probing can also be undertaken using the Geotool Rig.
