……New Premises

With an unusually wintry start to 2010, the snow drifts and freezing temperatures gave us all at Geotron UK the much needed time to complete the move to our new premises and to begin with the task of refurbishment and re-organisation.  Although moving a business is never straightforward, we do believe that this move will enable us to grow and progress over the coming years to better serve our clients and give us the capacity to attract new ones. ……New Investment

We have recently purchased a new Robit cased rotary system, which uses a Down-The-Hole hammer to penetrate dense, gravelly overburden deposits, whilst enabling simultaneous casing of the borehole.  This system can be used with either of our multi-purpose machines and will enable installation of borehole and wells where standard augering, cable percussion or open hole rotary drilling are likely to struggle.  Installation of a temporary casing will also allow the use of follow-on open hole rotary techniques to penetrate bedrock strata beneath the overburden when required - all with one machine. Our cased and lined window sampling capabilities also recently expanded with the addition of a 128mm diameter casing system which can be used with the Comacchio GEO205 or the Geotool GTR790. Depending on the rig employed, this casing, with internal 101mm windowless sampler, is driven into the ground by a hydraulic hammer or a heavy duty drop-weight system.  Not only does this system enable recovery of large diameter lined soil cores, it also enables the collection of U100 samples by the use of a specifically designed sampler.

Whilst continuing to invest in new equipment and increasing our range of services, we are aware that the economic climate over the last year or so has brought about significant changes in the way that site investigation contracts are priced with economic efficiency being vital for both consultants and contractors to succeed in the tender process.  At Geotron UK we continue to strive to source materials and apply rates that represent good value to our clients whilst maintaining service, quality and, above all, safety.
